Anyone else applying for transfer to Harvard, Yale, or Stanford?
I know these colleges are superselective, but does anyone have any insight on what they really want in an applicant? & How much does it matter which school you're transferring from? i.e., if you're transferring from an ivy, would it help you? Thanks.

yeah im applying to the above. i think the prestige of the school that you are transferring from does not matter much unless you're moving from yale to harvard or something where they are "stealing" the other univs asset.

what university are you presently attending?

i'm attending an ivy right now. but it's not as prestigious as harvard or yale.

Princeton.

lol, actually no. i was rejected from princeton. and actually, its been my dream school since like 3rd grade. but i didn't get in. and unfortunately, they don't take transfer students, which makes me really really sad :( but, c'est la vie!

OP - While I'm no expert on transfer admissions, I believe that a high GPA (3.7+) from another Ivy will certainly give you above average chances. Combine that with stellar essays and recs and you'd further increase your chances. Good luck!

We have people from other Ivies, but also community colleges and then everything in between. I honestly don't think it's the transfer-from school itself as much as what you've been able to do with the resources you were given.
