Hey, I'm a freshman. Please don't tell me I'm too young to think about college, like everyone else does. I'm incredibly ambitious, so that's why I'm posting this. Alright, I wan't to go to Kelley very badly when I graduate in 3 years from High School. I know that Kelley doubled their applicants just this year, so it's going to be hell by 2010. So does anyone have any sight of what it will be like in 2010?

I have a 3.4 GPA averaged for the semester, should be a 3.6, but my science teacher screwed me over with a 92.4, which is .6 from an A. That's my first semester averaged... Remember, I'm a freshman, and I go to a cut neck boarding school.

SO HOW HARD WILL IT BE TO GET ACCEPTED INTO KELLEY WHEN I APPLY IN 2010?????

why dont u also ask who will win the super bowl, who will be the president, and if we are still in iraq in 2010? 2010? how should we know? study hard and ull get in no doubt.

Aight, I will... So can you tell me what will happen with all of the things you listed, breh?

Alright, just someone give me an opinion... What's his face just thought I was wanting a true answer... "educated guesses"...

IU is a rising school, I can definitely imagine it being more competitive in 2010.

It's nice you have that goal to get into Kelley. You're still so early in the process so a 3.4 is decent to start with I guess, but I'd highly encourage you to keep working to increase your GPA, as a trend always looks impressive.
As far as I know, IU is more concerned with numbers - so if you have solid numbers you're generally in. We didn't even have to write an admissions essay this year.
However, things could obviously change by the time you apply, IU may try to keep up with the other more competitive Big Tens and raise their standards, so really nobody has a way of knowing exactly how competitive it will be. But yes, it will DEFINITELY be more competitive in 2010 than it is now, that is to be expected.

So keep working hard, and I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember to consider other schools too, because if by chance things don't work out the way you want - what will you do?! Some people can get over that rejection quick, others will NEVER get over it. The fact that you're looking into this stuff so early is good, but it's not something you should obsess over. Don't be like all "My life will be over if I don't get into Kelley" and stuff...lol. There are always plenty of other options out there :) Right now, just focus on doing well in school and enjoying high school. There will be plenty of time to worry about college admissions, trust me!

^^nice answer and sorry about sarcasm. but ur so young that you shouldnt be worrying about this and it ****es me off that college admissions has gotten to this point that 14 year olds are already finding internships and doing research papers to pad the resume. its getting out of hand

i disagree with ridewitbd24. no offense to him or her, but just because he or she may not have started thinking about college so early on does not mean that others are not entitled to look out for their future.

IU in general has seen a 20 percent application jump this year. Kelley has also seen a big increase apparently. with both of these factors in mind, it is safe to assume that IU (especially direct admit to Kelley) will be extremely competitive by the year 2010. 3.4 starting out during freshman year should not stray you from your path. you have 5 more semesters to bring up your grades and do well on your SATs.

so, get off CC and start studying.

not saying that its wrong to look out for the future, but saying its wrong that college admissions is becoming so insane that freshman already looking at college options is considered acceptable. idk it just seems wrong to look so early. just my opinion and feel free to disagree
