I best act score so far is 27 C (english:24, r: 22, M: 33, s: 29) My English and Reading sucks mainly because I am second language I think. I practiced a lot( red book, Barron’s, Princeton etc. ) But my score just didn’t go up. The June one is my 4th time taking this. Where is my problem?? Please leave any suggestions! Thank you!!
Hi! I’m going to suggest you find any and all tests that ask you to answer questions about the passage and answer them. I also suggest studying vocab even though it isnt tested
I agree with @kaitefoxfire and in your free time, definitely make sure to read ACT passage like materials (such as science articles, Money magazine, or classic short literature) which mimics some of what the ACT reading section puts out. It definitely will help you with your reading comprehension and will also help in writing because you’ll better understand idiomatic expressions that can definitely be really difficult when English is a second language. Pair your ACT preparation with writing and reading in your free time, it can really tune you to common sentence structures and grammar. Also, reviewing English grammar rules may be helpful in some of the more straightforward but forgettable questions on the English section (that’s what I did for the SAT writing sections and it truly helped a lot). Good luck!
