I’m just curious since it makes no sense that I got taken off. Not complaining, of course! I just thought to get off the waitlist, it had to be after May.
I applied early action to Rutgers, and I got accepted into SAS early on in November or December. However, RBS and the Nursing School responded to me on the very last day on January 31st—I got waitlisted at both.
I never logged back into my Rutgers account until late February. I only went back in because I was writing an email to admissions about my interest and new things I’ve accomplished, and I wanted to add my RUID before I sent it. I logged back into my account to copy the ID, and then I saw that I was accepted to the business school.
I jumped with joy and checked my email. Sure enough, a few days ago, an email confirmed my acceptance to the business school and I just missed it since I didn’t put my notifications on at the time.
I heard this happened to someone else in my grade as well, so I’m just wondering how it’s possible I got off the waitlist in late February. I’m still waitlisted for Nursing. At the time, I didn’t update my senior grades (since they weren’t out yet). I didn’t send admissions an email. I didn’t do anything. For those curious, my stats are 1340 SAT, 93.3 GPA (weighted), ranked 139/476. I’ve improved a lot my senior year, but these stats are what they saw when they accepted me.
@samn39 Thank you, but honestly stats aren’t that great for rbs. I know someone who got waitlisted like me, and his grades, ranking, and extracurriculars were better than mine (only my SAT was only higher). I believe luck plays a factor into it. And you should email admissions about your continuing interest and any new accomplishments! Can’t hurt (I think).
@probablyrbs2023 I got waitlisted at SAS and SEBS that’s the only 2 i applied ?? where can i email them??? I really dont know anything about this ?? thank you!!
@samn39 Go to http://nbregistrar.rutgers.edu/reg-tele.htm and under “Additional Contacts” there’s an email listed for the undergraduate admissions office. I THINK that is where you can email them about your continued interest and such. You can look at any of the other contacts if you have any other possible questions for Rutgers.
@samn39 No problem! And if you do email, make sure to talk about any improvements you’ve made this year and emphasis your interest in Rutgers and why you would want to go. Try to show them that Rutgers is right for you! Hoepfully, your senior grades have improved as well since that can def boost you.
@probablyrbs2023 I did better in my senior grade I updated my score right when I got waitlisted… but except for one of my ap class i got an 80 ?? but my other classes help and I have a 93… I have a 90 all three years ? sad face
@samn39 That’s not bad! I did terrible at the beginning of high school; I had three C’s! Your 80 isn’t going to be the deciding factor if they reject you. I had a 79, 76, and even a 72! And they were all in honors classes, not AP! But I did very well in other classes which helped me bring up my overall average. One 80 shouldn’t break you.
