How did the typical American breakfast come to be?

You know--sausage, fried eggs, toast, pancakes, bacon, orange juice.

Got any ideas?

Because it's damn delicious.

Is that a typical American breakfast? Never really knew.

My breakfast looks something like two or three eggos with maple syrup and maybe yogurt.

otherwise, frosted miniwheats with 1 milk.

1% that is. percent. does percent show up on CC?

edit: yes it does.

That's funny robot.

My typical breakfast is cereal, I don't know who has time for all that on a school day, unless your mom makes it.

But if you really want to know, watch the food channel. Food Network, they do a lot of that type of stuff on there.

You know what I love that's insanely disgusting?

That new (is it new?) breakfast sandwich from McDonald's. Greasy, but such an indulgence. Pancakes (with built in syrup) for buns, eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage all wedged in the middle... eating it is like asking for obesity.

It's like the stereotypical American breakfast in stereotypically American fashion--all in one.

My typical breakfast, though, and I consider it typically American, is Special K with spoonfuls of skim milk and half an apple. Plus water.

I think it came to be 'cos that's what you can easily make when you have a farm.

Uh.. the McGriddle? Yeah it's pretty fattening. @_@

My typical breakfast is oatmeal. Haha
And the thread question goes unanswered..

I proposed my theory.

Yes, the McGriddle! I could never finish one. It's so greasy--the grease alone fills up your calories for a few days.

honey bunches of oats all the way man

Yeah, I heard those McGriddle things are like the most unhealthy thing on the McDonalds menu. Their pancakes are good though.

I just got my mom a new toaster for the holidays that is pretty awesome. You put an egg in one side, toast in the other, and then it cooks both at the same time and you can make like your own egg mcmuffin! I love it :)

I LOVE Post's Honey Bunches. I eat Quaker Oats sometimes, too. Not that tasty, but it's healthy.

I like Special K with peanut butter. Mmmmm. And fried eggs? More like scrambled. What are some typical breakfastes ( < is that a word) in other countries?

Isn't the typical breakfast not eating breakfast?

Everyones zooming around nowadays.

Actually, a lot of my friends don't eat breakfast whatsoever. They just find something to chomp on during break at school.

Giving mom a toaster for xmas? How un-motherly! Would you like it if mom got you a shovel so you can clear the driveway of snow? (even if you don't live in snow country, you know what I mean...)

haha

giving a mom a toaster?

hint hint hint.

I gave your mother a toaster last night.

hmm..typical breakfast..on school days I just eat two slices of bread and that's it...I'm from eastern europe:)

I barely ever eat breakfast. Maybe like 2 times a month? And if I ever do that, it's a NutriGrain in Blueberry for me.
