113.5 Amc 12a

this is what i heard from my teacher today. We just officially got our scores today and I got my 115. He told me that they showed up late because they screwed up on scoring them by giving 1.5 for each blank instead of 2.5. He said that next year they are planning on giving 1.5 for each blank. They did that on accident this year. I was wondering if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Sure, your score will go down, but so will everyone else.

I think I got 111.5 AMC12B.

I'm very happy with that, if I got it. I needed 110 to make the "Mathematics Wall of Fame" at my magnet school. So my picture shall forever be on the wall in the hallway.

I've never taken an AMC, but what score out of 25 do you need to get to get a 100 or better? Isn't that what you need to qualify for the AIME? Also, are there going to be any more tests this year?

Hahahahahaha....63.5! I am officially a moron!

hmm any idea when the 12 b scores are out? crosses fingers

are there any AMC practice tests by any chance?

yeah, you have to buy it from their website. Otherwise, you might be able to find some websites with them. I have some links that you can check out. http://www.math.ksu.edu/main/events/hscomp/samples/amc12/sample.htm and http://www.kalva.demon.co.uk/

One has amc and the other has aime with usamo.

Great resource for AMC stuff, they'll post problem solutions as well for you.

I have the solutions guide, if you remember what the answers were. (lynda)
AMC 12a: 98
AMC 12b: 87.5

100.5
School Winner for the second time :]

woah, just 100.5?

at my school (which isn't even a math/sci school), it had been at 135.

at my school, it is a 137. Our combined score was over 400.

I scored a 108 on AMC12B. All I wanted to do was qualify for AIME, and I did!!

Not only was I the school winner with 100.5, I have the second all-time highest score for the entire history of the school :) (Highest is 101)

congratulations! haha youre 2nd by half a point :D

wait b scores are out? or are these estimates?

"Estimates"

Heh, a few years ago a kid at our school got 144 on the AMC 12. He missed the same question as the teacher at our school who happens to have written our AP Stats textbook and a widely used AP Calc review book (who also got 144).

I answered 13 and got them all right.

A great place to find stuff about the AMC series and just math in general is the Art of Problem Solving site the dsmo posted a link to earlier. Hundreds of USAMO, MOsP, and IMO participants post regularly. Based on the discussions so far, the consensus seems to be an AIME floor of 7-8 and an index in the 210-220 range. Personally, I'm thinking 7/215 is going to be a good call due to the 50% qualifier expansion this year.
