I'm a second semester freshman at a pretty competitive, small, liberal arts college and I'm starting to seriously consider transferring somewhere else for next year. I've been having a really hard time making friends, despite joining lots of clubs and attempting to hang out with people from a variety of different groups. Up until this point I've mostly chalked it up to social ineptitude, but after a tiring semester I'm starting to wonder if maybe I'm just not a good fit for the social scene here. It's a pretty homogeneous student body which can be frustrating at times. However, I like a lot of other things about the school. I've had awesome professors and classes so far, got a great job, and live in a rather nice dorm, among other things.

Can I get some stories from other potential transfer students?

I have the exact same problem and I’m not paying 20k+ to sit in my dorm room all day and to go through so much effort to make A friend for that matter. For me college is the whole package and if I’m not satisfied I’m moving on to somewhere that can give me everything I want. Sounds like I’m being a child, but for the amount of money college is I’m not settling.

I feel the same way about you guys! It sucks! I have some friends and stuff, but I frequently find myself in my room despite joining multiple clubs. i really hope that I get into the colleges that I applied to

When I discovered too many people do not value an education. People purely memorize, do not want to have “intellectual” conversations, only care about parties/the weekend, they don’t challenge themselves, think they will succeed in the world, and sit on their parents money.
