How different: AP Music Theory vs Free Period

Hey guys I want to take AP Music Theory but it's been a hassle trying to get it into my schedule I'm considering just dropping it and having a free period. I was wondering how much better my college applications would look with me getting that B or A in AP music theory (along with a 4 or 5 on the AP) as oppose to just that free period (nothing).

I kind've of want to take it but not enough to go back to the couselor multiple times when she's getting impatient and my options are widdling down.

So I was wondering if you guys thought I should take it because it'd help me look alot better on my college application.

BTW I'm a junior and I've been taking music classes all through highschool.

Oh and I have 7 classes:

Orchestra
Pre Calc Honors
AP Physics B
AP Spanish
Volleyball
AP european history
English honors

I took AP Music Theory my Sophomore year.

Will AP Music Theory be your eighth class? If it is, then you should only take it if you have some interest, at least, and can read music.

honestly, if you don't have a driving passion to take it, then don't
I know i wouldn't take the class, but i play trumpet in the band so don't think its a - if you don't take it

I took it my senior year and I actually enjoyed it. The test was kind of goofy but oh well. I had a good teacher, but thats not always true for everyone.
