Is AP Music Theory worth it?

I'm planning to take AP music Theory over the summer and I was wondering if it would help or not with college admissions. I think I have a pretty good chance of getting a 4-5 and I am planning for a non-music major. Please help and thanks!

If you want to take it, take it! Doesn’t matter if it’s important or not in this case, but if you’re confident about it then go right ahead!

I think you should give it a shot, especially since you are taking it during the summer. Since you’re confident about getting a high score on the ap test, then I think you’ll make it through the class.

i heard mixed things about ap music theory. I heard its really easy from some people and I heard that it’s the hardest ap ever. im taking it next year so good luck :)

Sorry for not clarifying this in the initial post but the thing is, the class represents a significant time commitment for me (20 hrs week for a month!) and there might be some overlap because I may have an internship in a field related to my planned major during that period. I honestly don’t really want to take it but I already have the information and am pretty confident in my score so it’d be a lost opportunity to not take it.
