How do American colleges evaluate Indian 11th/12th midterm grades?

Hi!

I've got a 10 CGPA in 9th/10th, but my 11th grade fell drastically to 80%.
My official transcript looks like this.

Math - B
Accountancy - A+
English - A+
Business Studies - A+
Economics - A+
My school's grading scale is
B - 50-59
B+ - 60-69
A - 70-79
A+ 80-100

My school converts all marks to grades, so colleges won't know that my overall is 80%.

Does that one B put me out of the running for competitive colleges? The conversion follows the official WES conversion table, so by that, my GPA would be around 3.8.

Thanks!

They evaluate in terms of the context of your school, as they do with all applicants. Also, as with all applicants, 1 B will not be the reason you are accepted or denied.

Top colleges get plenty of applicants from India. I think you can assume the regional admissions officer has familiarity with the Indian educational system.
