How do College interpret SAT scores?

<p>Sorry if this has been asked before, but how do colleges look at the SAT scores. </p>

<li><p>Do they take the highest overall score (highest from each section from a different test date) or do they only look at the best score from a ONE-sitting test date. </p></li>
<li><p>Do they even care about the writing section or what? </p></li>
<li><p>Would it hurt if I did worse my second time taking it? </p></li>
</ol>
