How do colleges react to schedule changes?

I’m currently a Junior in High School and since the beginning of this year I’ve been wanting to take AP Statistics. However, the class was completely full for a good quarter of the year and I basically kept trying to convince the teacher to get me into the class anyway; I failed. So in the meantime I took Honors Chemistry instead. When someone finally dropped out of AP Stats, I asked if I could be put in and the teacher had me go talk to my counselor about it. My counselor said I needed to wait till the end of the semester to transfer into the class. Now that the end of the semester has arrived I talked to my counselor and she said that colleges tend to question and sometimes frown upon schedule changes so now I’m a little concerned about going through with it. I’ve already taken biology, honors physics, and now one semester of honors chemistry…is it a bad idea to switch into AP Stats? Should I just wait until next year to take it? I want to take AP Stats both because it seems interesting and because I want to take advanced classes (I’m currently in 3 APs, 4 with AP Stats) in order to achieve a high academic ranking in my school to go to a prestigious university like Harvard…I know that Colleges look particularly and sophomore and juniors years the most so I assumed taking AP Stats would be best now. I AM CURRENTLY FREAKING OUT ABOUT WHAT TO DO PLEASE HEELLP.

Stay in Chem. Just because a class is an AP, doesn’t make it more rigorous. I would say H Chem > AP Stats. Is AP Stats a semester class at your school? If not, it sounds like a recipe for disaster to walk into a class halfway through the year.

I don’t think colleges care unless there is something odd. They can ask. It does no good to you academically and personally to worry about every teeny difference on your transcript.
