HOW do colleges varify Community service

I have over 500 hours from volunteering in a hospital for four summers. The only real proof I have, though, are these pins that they give out at the end of the volunteering time. But, these pins look like they can be purchased off of e-bay or something. Would sending a picture or something be enough proof of my commitment?

If you can, you should ask someone at the hospital to verify that you have done so many hours and sign a statement.

are you applying to uc;s cus they don't really want supplementary stuff - otherwise getting a proof would be nice :) i have a lot of hours but i can't send in the confirmation

i thought they randomly check.

do they randomly check? how?

not to bring a thread back from the dead, but I think this is sort of important; I still am amazed by people who can fake something that others feel so passionately about...atleast most of the books I read specifically say that it's quite difficult to show passion unless it's real

By writing hundreds of hours extra on community service, I really feel like my accomplishments are belittled; I didn't volunteer for the hours; i did it for the fun and the experience; it hurts to know if/that colleges take the hours I write down with a grain of salt...

Do you think if you have a reccomendation from where you got the most hours? You think they would get ****ed you are sending more reccomendations? Or would they like it
