How do colleges view GPA/rank?

I'm currently a Sophomore, and my Freshman year grades are bugging me.
First quarter I pulled all A's with one B, and I did the same exact thing in the second quarter. The B's were in the same class. I ended up getting extremely high A's in that class for the final two quarters, and my final grades ended up being all A's, tying me for first rank.

Will colleges look at these quarters individually, or will they look at Freshman year as a whole (final grades + rank)?

Thanks!

It depends on how your school formats their transcripts. Most schools just do final grades, some will include the semester and final exam grades.

Ask your counselor for an unofficial copy of your transcript, and you’ll see how your school does the lay out.

Why are you worrying about 2 B from FRESHMEN year? everyone is gonna mess up, but you have an upward trend in just that year even, stop sweating it.
