How do I comfort a friend who got rejected from a school I got accepted to? how do I tell them I got accepted without being overbearing (or should I keep quiet for the moment)?

best solution: tell them you got accepted only if they ask. It’s not necessary to tell the world where you got accepted. If your friend needs comforting, tell him how he’ll love other schools and what more he has to look forward to.

Just don’t rub it in his face. I was rejected from my top school, and my friend was invited to the candidate’s weekend. I was happy for him, and your friend will be happy for you as long as you’re kind. It really helped when my friend told me that I’d have a lot of good college options come April, so I’d tell your friend the same thing.

Play up their other options.
If they don’t have any other options well then… be optimistic. D:

or if ur not good at comforting…either shut up or change the subject worked well for me
