Here is the question:
Cornell SC Johnson College of Business: Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management: How have your interests and experiences influenced your decision to study Applied Economics and Management? Describe how you would take advantage of the Dyson School’s unique opportunities, for example, its affiliation with both the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. -650 Word Limit
Any ideas on how should I format my response?
Thanks!
I don’t know why I chose to go back to this forum lol but I think the best approach to start it off would be to detail an experience you had such as an internship (this would help a lot because a crap ton of dyson kids who were accepted had a internship that differentiated them) or some sort of business like activitity (volunteering or starting a business, something that shows “leadership”). You should include a story and you’ll learn this as you grow older and you apply for jobs. Having a story makes your reasons more memorable and more easy to stand out.
As for why Dyson, there’s a lot. You could talk about how tight knit the major is, the bonds you would form, the professors who have interesting research (be very specific about this as this could differentiate you. labs include the food and brand lab. btw research is very attainable here), the food fellows program (if you’re interested in the food fellows marketing program this is a great thing to put on your application because it shows you’ve done your research about a few of the opportunities the school offers), the connections at Dyson, the flexibility in the major (such as the potential to double major and crap), the outreach, the international opportunities, and the specific cousework within dyson that interests you a lot
