How do I get better at AP Calc AB?

hi guys! so i’m really struggling in ap calc ab right now and i need some help. does anyone have any study tips that don’t include paying? so nothing like a paid tutor, but like websites or free study guides? thanks!

You are not the only one struggling with math this year. Covid schooling gaps are real.

First, talk to your teacher. They probably know what you are missing. You can also go talk to your pre-calc/trig teacher - they will also know where some gaps are and what to work on. How did you do in that class? And was it in person or virtual.

College Board has free help with log ins for all their AP courses.

Kahn academy is free and can help you figure out what concepts you are missing and help you master those.

Try studying with others from your class who are doing better as well.

I second Kahn, and you may have to backfill with pre-calc on Kahn. Hang in there.

Check out the 3Blue1Brown series Essence of Calculus. It explains the core concepts well and helps you visualize what derivatives and integrals actually are. Also, don’t worry, you’re not alone! I’m in BC Calc this year and our teacher has essentially only had us do Khan and kids in my class committed to Cornell, Umiami, and Bc can’t integrate. This is a rough year but I’m confident we can both get through it.

pm me, i have another youtube channel from my kids school but I dont want to post it on a public forum

Once you get through the study guides or videos there’s no substitute for working through practice problems.

Does your high school have peer tutors? My son used them and it was free and helpful (students got volunteer hours for NHS).
