I know that they look at all of your acomplishment from 7th-10th grade, your HS grades, SAT score, leadership example and extra curricular, but how big of a role are each? Dose SAT score matter the most? Dose HS grades matter the most? What are some variety of leadership examples should I include? What kind of grades do I need?
If you search back through some of the old NCSSM threads you will find a rubric that supposedly was used in the past. Weighting was given to all As, course rigor, SAT in comparison to your high school, etc. Also there are some postings which show the acceptance rates of different Congressional Districts, although be aware that the CDs have changed and are likely to change again soon.
From what I recall, all grades, rigor and SATs make the largest impact. Ultimately some of it comes down to luck though as it depends how you compare to others in your district.
Which CD are you in and how are your grades? Why do you hope to go to NCSSM?
