How do I interpret this?

<p>My D auditioned last week at a hard to get into SOM. The day after the audition she had a sample lesson with one of the faculty. She liked the teacher a lot and I guess he liked her. The lesson lasted 1.5 hours. Last night the teacher called and said that he had good and bad news. The bad news was that he would not be able to accept D into his studio. He only had 2 openings and a long list of applicants. However, he highly recommended another teacher for D and encouraged her to contact this other teacher ASAP, which D did. </p>

<p>Can I assume that D will be getting a acceptance letter from this SOM or am I reading too much into this? Or should I just assume the Lotus position and meditate and let things fall into place? ;)</p>

<p>Good news is likely on the way. If your daughter were not going to gain admission, it would seem unlikely that the first teacher would have recommended that she contact the other one at the school However, I would caution against assuming too much. It sounds like it is highly probable that your daughter is in, but occasionally strange things happen. Lotus position with a fair bit of confidence.</p>

<p>Just got a call from D. She has been accepted by Shepherd, but still has to be accepted by Rice. Back to the Lotus position. :rolleyes:</p>
