So, let's say I take the SAT as a sophomore in high school, and I really like my score. I can't send my score to any colleges right now (since I'm not a senior), so can I "keep" my score until senior year, and send it then? If so, how? Like, do I have to make a phone call to College Board?

Another scenario: Let's say I take the SAT as a sophomore, and I really hate my score. How do I immediately erase my score so that no colleges I apply to in the future will ever see it?

You don’t need to do anything to keep your score. SAT scores aren’t even archived until four years after you take the test, so it won’t be a problem.

However, there is also no way to erase your score. Some colleges will allow you to use score choice, so they won’t ever see it. But some colleges require you to send all your test scores, and there’s no way to erase the ones you don’t like.

If you want to keep and use your SAT from your soph year…you just log on to Collegeboard and indicate that you want your score sent to various colleges. You have to pay to have them sent at a later time.

College Board keeps all tests you take from freshman year on so you can send them when you apply for college senior year. What it does not keep are scores for tests you take 8th grade or before (they eliminate them the summer after the tests are given) unless you specifically request that they be kept.
