I'm currently majoring in biology, and planning on getting a MBA later on. Is this the right track if my career goals are to be in either healthcare management, consultant, or compliance? If not, what is the right track, and what type of work experience/internships do you recommend?

Thanks

Yes, that is a good track. Another choice would be to get some kind of business minor now so you could step into some kind of business role in a healthcare setting.

I spent much of my career in health care consulting. If you want to pursue health care consulting after your undergrad, a strong liberal arts background is important. Biology is fine if that is what you are most interested in as a major, but certainly not necessarily related to your career choice. Consulting firms will look for strong skills such as communications (verbal and written), analysis and synthesis of data and information, problem-solving, etc. The best MBA programs will not take you right out of undergrad, so it will be important to build key skills while an undergrad.

You might want to do a Washington, D.C., internship in healthcare policy.
