The reason that I want to quit is simply that I waste too much of my time there. After being there for 2 months, I have done nothing but surf the web. It is unpaid and I really think I can use the time for a much better internship, which I have been hired for today. The thing is, I feel really bad for quitting, but they have more than enough interns to complete the minimal tasks, like arranging folders.
I dont really know what to say to my employer, and dont want to end it badly. Any tips?

Write a resignation letter to your boss and thank them for a wonderful opportunity.
Give two weeks notice.

^ What he said. Explain that you want to expand your skillset and that while you learned a lot at your current internship (whether you did or not) that your new job is more closely aligned with your interests. Then tough it out for the last two weeks.

Just speak with your supervisor and explain that you feel that this internship has not been a good match for you (list a few reasons) and that you have found a more productive opportunity elsewhere. Offer to finish up any loose ends before you actually step out. Since it is unpaid, they may let you go faster than you think.
