For a while I was thinking about dropping out because of my bad gpa freshmen year (1.8) and other circumstances. I've transferred back to my high school though and my grades in certain subjects aren't that great because I missed out on a lot of material. I'm getting Microsoft programs for my birthday so I'll be able to take online classes and actually do well (hopefully). I live in Florida so I can do Florida Virtual School for free along with regular high school. I was wondering if it's possible to erase grades/classes from your transcript if you replace them with other things? I had bad grades in French(D), Geometry(D), and Integrated Physics(D) in 9th grade. I'm in 10th grade because I did Algebra and Environmental Science in 8th grade and have credits from that. I'm thinking about taking two electives online to replace my French grade, Geometry Honors online, English II Honors online, and Chemistry and Algebra 2 at a high school program. I'm taking Biology, Geometry, and English II in regular high school but I'm not sure how high my grades will be. They're also not very rigorous classes. My ideal UW gpa would be at least a 3.6-3.7. Thank you for reading this!!!

I would consult your GC to see if your school allows students to retake a class for a better grade. Some schools will let you take the class again, but both grades will appear on your transcript. Others will erase the old grade completely if you retake it and do better. If your school does the second, you could raise your GPA quite a bit. However, if your school doesn’t allow you to replace grades, I’m not sure you could get your GPA to a 3.7. The online school does sound like a good option, though. I have a few friends that are doing much better now (online) than they were taking classes at the physical school. Plus, if it’s free I see no reason not to (here it’s $300 per semester per class, I think. The school will pay for one online class per semester, though).

I think our school allows us to replace grades (my GC mentioned something about using credits I got from 8th grade for 9th grade). Wow, that sounds hard to deal with.
