How do I raise my scores from Practice Tests

Every practice test I take i end up getting 580-590 math, 480 - 520 reading, and 480 - 520 writing. Will doing more and more practice tests raise my score??? How do I even study to increase my scores??? it feels like they are stuck at this point, and won't increase. What to study for math, reading, and writing sections to increase all of them?? I wanna get 1800. So far every practice test i take i always end up with 580-590 math, 480-520 writing, and 480-520 reading.

taking practice tests as a routine and not going over them will not benefit you at all. After each practice test, you should thoroughly go through the questions you got wrong and reason why the right answer is the right. Sometimes you may need to spend up to 2 hrs reviewing the test to truly understand your mistakes. If you truly understand your mistakes when taking loads of practice tests, i can assure you your scores will not be “stuck” Not to sound in any way harsh, but the scores are fairly low and so you can easily raise them. What I think the problem is, given the info. you provided, is that you are mindlessly taking practice tests. Although taking practice tests is beneficial, that is just the half of it. You must REVIEW and scrutinize your mistakes and maybe make notes on it. CR is a bit unwieldy but you can def. learn from mistakes in math and writing. Getting to an 1800 is definitely possible it just seems that you either are not reviewing the tests, or you haven’t mastered a strategy. There are some good posts and tips to attacking certain section. For example, silverturtle’s guide is very informative for writing, and noritraprep has a great guide for CR that you can search up on cc. Apply these strategies and review your tests and I believe that your score can truly rise. Good Luck!

biofreak21 - where can i find the explanations to the problems i missed in the blue book practice tests???

go to google and type in “official SAT study guide book owners list” and click on the link that says “welcome to the official…” then you will be linked to the site and then click on the book you have, it then asks you for a confirmation like a certain word on a certain page of the book. Once you have passed that you can look at the answer explanations to any of those tests online. Happy Studying!

[Welcome to the Official SAT Study Guide Book Owner’s Area](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>SAT Study Guide – SAT Suite | College Board)

You must use some SAT study book as your guide. Choose one from Princeton, Barron or McGraw Hill’s. Then look if you need to get a more comprehensive guide for CR, Math or Writing…

Thank u very much with this guys

Also may want to check out both Khanacademy and SATQuantum for video solutions to the blue book problems. And (as I love to remind everyone) you can also google to find solutions to just about any blue book problem. Your search will probably lead you right back to this forum!

But other than that, I agree with Biofreak completely: it’s the followup that’s key…
