How do I raise my scores?

I just took a Red book test and got:
27 English,
27 Reading,
35 Math,
36 Science

As you can see, I sucked on English and Reading. English is basically just stupid mistakes, but anybody got a good prep website that teaches you grammer?
For Reading, I just need help.. nothing I do will get me in time to finish the section- If I read it completely, I would usually get to #35 and guess the rest (P.S., my guesses suck and even if I read it completely, I still get some of the ones I read completely wrong) I can't skim at all so, any ideas what I can do?

Thanks in advance.

Read more for pleasure to increase reading speed/skimming ability?

Beyond that, the standard "practice practice practice".

I actually like reading :D , but I like to "soak in" on my reading- not to read and skip every sentence. So I don't really know if that will work for me... Any other tips?

Thats my problem. I read too much into the text, i don't just speed over something I don't get 100%. thankfully the ACT isn't as in depth as some other things. you don't really need to understand everything for the english section. Just read, get the gist, answer the questions!
