How do I send letters of recommendations?

I want to send the applications and supplements (i.e. recommendations and resumes) using online, but I asked my teacher(s) to write the recommendations on papers. Can I send both online application and paper recommendations to admission officers of each university?

Other CC members can chime in, but I think the practice for paper recommendations is you usually give each of your recommenders your request for a recommendation, your resume and other info about you and the prospective school, and an envelope with the address of the admissions office on it, and after they finish the recommendation, they would do one of these:
a) put the recommendation in the envelope, seal it, and send it themselves
b) put the recommendation in the envelope, seal it, return it to you, and you send it
c) give back the envelope and the recommendation to you, and they’re ok with you reading it, and then you send it.

good luck.

The usual practice is to have the teacher put it in the envelope, seal it, and then sign their name across the seal. It doesn’t really matter whether you or the teacher mails it to the admissions office after that; it will still end up with the rest of your application.

Is any type of envelope acceptable to colleges?

How do recommendations work if we’re using one letter for more than one school…are we allowed to photocopy recommendations?

I have the same question…
