How do people feel about transfering

I want to transfer next year from Babson to Wharton school, But right now I feel miserable because i feel like I'm betraying the school. is that a common feeling or it's just stupid me? Also, when you ask your professors to write your recommendations, when did you ask and how do they respond? are they disappointed or what?

I revel in the fact that I'm betraying the school - I hate this place and would shed 0 tears if it burned down - my professors understood perfectly because this place is a *ing *hole.

what school is that?

The Illinois Institute of Technology.

Well, I like my school, except that I want to attend Wharton more, ALOT more, and I have been living in MA for 8 yrs now, i just want to change a new environment and see more of the world.

Tell your professor exactly that. Most professors will not begrudge you that - not professors that you would want writing for you.

Don't go to Wharton, you suffer from delusions of morality. You will never make it in a business school. Seriously, you are worried about a betraying a school that hasn't done jack for you? I wonder what you are going to do when you have to pick between an incompetent family friend to head a $ 20 million deal and someone more qualified.

Grow a business mentality, and your problem solves it self.

first thing is getting in. then let your emotions run wild.

yeah you can't really think about it until you get in, especially to a school like that- it's so competitive so you can't count on anything or feel guilty for trying to get a significantly better education

I personally never knew that to be in business you had to be a heartless ***hole. I'm pretty sure good people who have morals have made it in business.....

I actually used to go to Babson, and I definitely can understand where you are coming from. You can't really worry about betraying the school, you just have to do whats right for you. And as for the professors, I picked ones that I had a close relationship with. They may have been slightly dissapointed in my decision, however, they were also happy for me to get out of a situation that I was unhappy in.

Why are you asking us? You are an adult. I am sure you are very intelligent, do you really need someone to tell you that?

But maybe I am being too hard on you, why are you so anxious? Are you shy?

I know what you're talking about.
My advisor really wanted me to stay :/, and one of my professors was like "Why leave NYU?" etc.

i thought it was really awkward too... though my professors were generally understanding. one told me she would love to see me stay but knew how important it was to be happy (she had transferred several times and completely changed her career direction as well). another totally understood my complaints about my school, and really seemed to agree with me... which was nice. : )

How is that babying her? What on earth are you talking about?
