I heard from others that readers get all applications from your school or your district and read them together to get a better view of you, your environment, and peers? Is this true? Or is there simply no order in which they read?

Stanford doesn't have regional officers, so your scenario would logically be illogical (lol). But really, how does this affect how you apply? O.o

They do have quasi-regional readings. I am from Arizona and we had Richard Shaw visit our school- the dean. Someone asked about that and he commented that himself and 2 others were reading 'Arizona' apps, and that while not done strictly regionally, they are evaluated in a regional context. So whatever you want to take from that.
Also, read the article that was posted on here about the way they look at apps.

Darts? That's a bit elaborate. My dad swears they just throw all the applications up in the air and admit whoever they catch before they hit the floor :)

Goldfish, I think West Virginia is the only state that did not have a student as a freshman this year. All other things being equal, you're in luck.

Stanford apps are read regionally. I talked to an assistant director, and I was like "oh, hopefully you'll read my app" and she's said "oh no, we read regionally, and I'm not assigned your area." Pa-da-da-dow.
