Hello everyone. I have recently found out how UC asks applicants to verify extracurricular for the 10% of the applicants. Does anybody know how this system works? I am really confused what I am suppose to verify if I get such message from UC. Its been like 2 years since I graduated my highschool and some of my volunteering activities even date back to 2017 or 2018. My activities, including volunteers, were local and weak, so I am not even sure if they keep the records or not. (they did during my freshman app) Also, My highschool clubs’ supervisors change every year so I am not sure whom to contact in order to get the ‘proof’ of my activity. If I do receive the message, would I have to track all small activities that I have done in my highschool years?

UC selects a random sampling of applicants who are required to verify information in their application. The selection and notification takes place in late December. Applicants are notified by postal mail, email and text message that they have been selected for verification along with instructions on how to meet the requirements. Applicants are asked to provide original documentation to verify one item from the following sections on the UC Application: academic history, honors and awards, extracurricular activities, volunteer work and community service, special program participation, employment or information contained in the personal insight responses. The instructions sent to the selected applicants details how to complete the process as well as a list of appropriate documentation. Appropriate documentation could include official transcripts, a letter from a teacher, counselor or coach on letterhead, or a copy of a certificate or award. Letters from a counselor, teacher or a coach can be emailed to the UC Application Center directly from the counselor, teacher or coach.
Thank you so much for your reply!
Hi,
I received an email from the UC Application center about verifying my application. The steps, which I have attached below, cannot be completed because the “Verification process (Not started)” button is not on my application. I was wondering if I should email them or wait a few days to see if the button appears. If you have any information on this your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I would give it at least 24 hours to see if the link appears. Many times the email proceeds the actual verification link.
