How do we not die of heat in the summer?

After coming back from orientation, I was worried the heat would be too much when I moved to BU. I felt very sick and lightheaded. I thought I had a fever and was going to throw up. I live in Texas, but my house has AC and anywhere you go does too. No one spends much too outside. But after the second day at orientation I felt a little bitter. I was on the 11th floor or something too. But man, it sure is hard to sleep with the heat. At least the dorm I got into has AC.

You'll be fine with a fan. We use just fans all summer and do OK. You'll only have a few, if any, really hot days.......and it tends to cool down at sundown. It doesn't stay 90 overnight....and sometimes its actually cold at night.

NX - "But after the second day at orientation I felt a little bitter." I hope you felt a litter better! For being so HOT 24 hours a day, Texas produces no tolerance to heat because it is unbearable when its 100 degrees at 10:00 pm. It is almost weirdly quiet to me to be in an unairconditioned building. You hear all the little noises that are normally blocked out. I'll need a loud fan to give me white noise in absence of AC. And it's going to keep me from dying.

I'm totally fine now. But yeah, sometimes heat can get to you if you don't watch out.
