Hi everybody, I'm currently a junior in high school and have no idea how to find college that fits into the career I'm interested in. So, i was wondering if somebody here could help me out a little? :D

I want to become a dentist, but i have no idea which college is good for it. I'm hoping to get into one of the University of California, and the only UC i know thats good for dentistry is UCSF, but its a private graduated school, so its not an option for me right now. I also got a lazy counselor, she's not helpful at all... so I really hope somebody would help me on this. so,help anyone? =)

Gotta repeat what someone else has said, UOP! I worked for a long time in the dental industry, and know so many really great dentists who went to UOP. It's very well thought of, in California and the rest of the US.

Dental school is a graduate school, not undergraduate. You will need to choose an undergraduate school to attend. Most who apply to dental school have a biology or chemistry major, but so long as you meet the dental school prerequisites, you can major in anything. For example, my mother had a dentist who majored in engineering - he designed bridgework that amazed other dentists.

To learn more about pursuing a dental career, check the American Dental Education Association website.

Oh i see. Thank you guys. now i have another college in mind then ^.^
I'll try to ask my dentist more about dental career later in the summer.

And thanks for the info fireflyscout, i knew that becoming a dentist takes 8 years after high school (4 years college, 2 more in college to get degree and 2 years working with another dentist) but did not know that you finally gets to focus on becoming a dentist in the later 2 years... -_-"
