My computer can read PDF documents, but I don't know if it needs to have a special PDF program to convert Word docs to PDF docs.

Why do you need it converted to PDF? Do you not have MS Office? If not, OpenOffice ([OpenOffice.org: Home](http://www.openoffice.org/)) will read .doc files.

However, if you still want it in PDF format, you’ll either have to buy Adobe PDF Writer, or use a free site like [Online PDF Converter](http://www.freepdfconvert.com/) to do the conversion.

Do you have a mac or pc? I have a mac and to save word documents as PDF’s I just have to go to File then Print (most likely Save on pc.) Then in the print menu there’s a PDF option you click on. After you click on it go down to Save As PDF and then your file will be saved as a PDF.

On a Mac running OS X you can create PDF files by going to File - > Print and clicking on PDF on the bottom left corner.

On computer running Office 2007 you can just get the add-in to save as PDF files.

[Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS](http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4D951911-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en)

Download it there.

As for previous versions, you’ll probably need a PDF writer.

Thanks for the advice! I did the printer thing.

Look up CutePDF.

It’s a virtual printer program that will let you print anything you can print to paper to PDF instead.
