Look at your abs, and if they don’t exist, perhaps you’ll feel the desire that they would exist. Then go exercise.

@ Jimbosteve: Lol. But what if you have them?

My motivation: I have decent muscle but my height makes me look less “swole” than someone shorter than me. Thus, I need to bulk up by eating more, sleeping more and exercising like a beast - all to better myself and push my limits.

Personally, I have to carry around about 35 pounds of drums for 8-10 hours a day this summer. That’s enough motivation for me.

Sometimes after I take elongated breaks (a month or so) from regular running, I have a really hard time starting back. The thought of it kills me for some reason. When I get back into running though I realize that I feel so much better in pretty much every way, including physically, of course. After I get back going, I love doing it. I’m not exaggerating when I say it is one of the best parts of my day. You just need to force yourself back into it, and then you’ll like it. Exercising makes you feel great.

Be competitive. If you’re a competitive track runner, you MUST try to get in shape or you’ll get slaughtered in competition and be irritable.

Set up work outs for yourself, put it into your schedule. Don’t try to just fit it in when possible, because it will never happen.

You have to take action, thinking about taking action doesn’t do anything.

pump-up songs, motivational quotes and looking at your gains

All about dem gains, speaking of which, y’all be mirin my gains.

blast pandora

@russgenious: Then you don’t need to exercise. Establish an equilibrium where you’re always slightly under what you’re happy with.
