How do you get exercise if you don't do a sport?

For those of you who aren't on a team or do a sport, how do you keep in shape?

Not just in the off-season, but if you don't do a sport EVER.

Going for walks or jogs in the park, and a couple hundred crunches (a week). Plus, I like to play a little pick-up Quidditch every once in a while.

Find something fun. Join a dance club, yoga, try out karate, etc. if you want to do something on your own, run or bike. if you live near the slopes, ski =) lots of fun!

I run cuz I like it. Long distances. During school, I only seem to fit it in on sat & sun, but make the workout worth it by doing it for like an hour. Last summer I had a strict schedule w/30 mins per 5 days a week. It was pretty intense and I got really fit, even without playing any sports.

treadmill HITT

Walk home. Jump on the trampoline while watching television.

Run, swim, play sports with friends.

I run cross country and track but I play tennis and basketball for fun.

When I feel like I need a really good workout I’ll play about a half hour of Dance Dance Revolution. I know, sounds strange, but when you set it to a high level it is very, well, effective. It’s rather fun too :). (We got DDR for gym class when I was in elementary school and I always found it to be one of the best warm ups for the class.)

I feel like if I jogged around my house for half an hour, it’d be a good workout, but I’d look like an idiot if people saw me running around my house… LOL.

I don’t exercise. Ever. I should probably do something about that…
I should buy Dance Dance Revolution. I’d play it all the time, and get exercise, and lose weight.

Run around the inside of your house.

My parents would get annoyed by it… lol.

bike everywhere. DDR is a good workout but the plastic pads were ****ty and the real plastic/metal ones are not really worth it imo

One team sport per year is required at my school in grades 7-12. [No PE after 6th grade… though it’s kind of funny… because k4-4th grade have PE every day and 5th-6th grade has it 4 times a week… and so our kids have pretty much no issues with weight, even without the PE.]

But right now… I’m doing pushups/situps. I go for a walk with my family every day. It’s about a mile. And I walk a LOT in between classes with a 50 lb book bag.

Oh yeah… I also set a timer and jog in place for about 15 minutes while watching TV. I’d feel like an idiot running around my neighborhood… plus I’d get kinda freaked. I live in a semi-sketch area.

wow 50lbs is probably not good for you back and shoulders.

talking to a coach at your school and said up a workout routine, and then go to the gym/get a membership

…and yes, flipper 119 knows his ****. treadmill HIIT is beast

it’s pretty much been all said…

My subdivision has a gym, so I use it everyday. I hit the treadmill for about 45 minutes.

I run 1-4 miles every day.

Well, I live in IL and where we are required to take P.E. all through high school, so I actually try in class to make it worthwhile. Also, my friends and I occasionally go and play basketball at a community center just for fun, and we play Ultimate Frisbee all the time, it gets pretty intense.

I don’t do sport and I don’t exercise (tho I plan to jog after AP Testing), but I’m not fat (just a little chubby around the stomach area). Well I’m Asian so I guess it’s not easy for me to get fat. Fast metabolism maybe?
