I just got bad news today and I'm kinda sad. What do you do that helps when you feel sad?

Listening to music. Lots and lots of music.

Do something productive. By doing so, you can simultaneously take your mind off things and accomplish something that needs to be done. I also find that writing helps release your feelings. Most importantly, have the right mindset.

^ ditto

listening to music isn’t productive. Although, I agree, writing helps a lot, calculus homework is just so cold and emotionless, once you get into it, you forget your troubles.

If you’re the typical CC user, you always have something to study, write, or solve.

my advice is to play video games for a half hour or so. it really helps get your mind off things. eating excessive amounts of food or exercising outside can also help

Exercise always helps for me. Makes me feel productive and takes my mind off things.

Power nap ftw! I do 45 minutes and I feel energized

I talk about it with someone I trust and it makes me feel better.
You could try watching a show you like on TV, preferably one that makes you laugh.
You could go for a walk, maybe take pictures or paint outside if you’re an artistic person.
If you like to write, maybe write it out in a poem.
If you’re athletic, go outside and play some basketball maybe.
Just keep yourself busy. Don’t study or do homework unless you can get yourself motivated to do it. I know this is AP week but every student needs a break. Maybe take a nap or take time to focus on yourself. Don’t worry about homework and studying right now. I had a similar problem last night and I decided to go right to bed instead of studying for my two tests, and then I came to school late so that I could study and take the test after school. It helps if you get some rest.
