I was looking at the chance threads and it seems some people already know the "score" of their essays. how's that possible when they haven't even submitted their applications? And do you ever get to know your essay's score at all after submissions? or are ppl just "guessing" at what they will get/got?

There is no such thing as a score for your essay. Every single essay is a unique piece of writing that serves to distinguish you from other applicants. It is not used to give brownie points for the best essays.

People “scoring” their essay is how well they “feel” their essay is.
