<p>Obviously you could lock your room in the dorms, but what do you do when you're at lectures, or places like Starbucks?</p>
<p>I'm thinking of buying a laptop cable lock but those looked too thin. I'm pretty sure I could cut through one of those easily.</p>

<p>Just keep it with you at all times, your not going to leave it anywhere, so I don't see where the safety issue comes up, unless you do leave it in obscure places with few people around.</p>

<p>Ahh but what if you have to get up to get something for a minute? Stuffing the laptop back into your bag everytime you want to get something, let's say, turn in a piece of homework, seems to me as just a bit too troublesome.</p>
<p>With a laptop lock at least you could leave your laptop there just for a little while without that big of a risk. Is it typical to see students locking their laptops (with cable locks) at UT? </p>
<p>I'm not familiar with how things work in UT, so if I'm wrong please correct me.</p>
