How do you know if you got a scholarship?

For early applicants. Is it in the packet you get in the mail? Are all students considered for scholarships or did I need to fill something out? Do i need to do the CSS in order to get a scholarship?

All applicants are considered. You dont need to fill out anything at Fordham. They will advise you either when you hear about the Early Admission decision, or later…sometime before March. I believe it is school policy to require a CSS form for all scholarship recipients, so its a good idea to fill one out anyway. And the CSS can also help them in determining if you are eligible for any grant money.

You can email Fordham admissions and ask them.

I emailed admissions a few months ago, and they said the CSS applies only to financial need money.

I did not file a CSS, and received the dean’s scholarship for $10,000.

^^^ okay. But I thought I remember seeing something a few years back that said they require it from everyone who gets money from Fordham…at some point in the process…in any event, it can’t hurt because it may open up other resources to you such as grant money.

That may be important for many families as Fordham’s tuition has increased substantially in the last 5 years, by over 10,000 per year…which equates to an additional cost of 40,000 over four years…and room/board has also increased to over 12,000 per year…so its now one of the most expensive colleges in the country, in a city which has a cost of living that is very, very high…

So the Dean’s Scholarship went a lot further 4-5 years ago, than it does today. And everyone knows tuition is going to continue to rise the next 4-5 years. Be prepared.

if you filled out the CSS Profile before November 15, you will get your scholarship and financial aid info the first week of february. I think they gave super qualified applicants thier deans scholarships early. But there is more money to be given away!
