Do the roommates split the cost? Does each roommate pay half of the price the fall semester, then pays the other half the spring semester? How does this work?
In my experience the university will calculate the cost themselves and tack it onto your bill. You won’t have to do anything more than pay a bill when the time comes.
Usually both roommates pay the same amount each semester (you can think of it as they split the cost each semester), but like i said the university will do that calculation for you.
Each roommate has an individual housing contract and is billed individually. The cost of room, board, tuition, and fees are combined and billed together for each student.
Depending on the school, you pay the university for university dorms according to your choice of room type: single, double, triple, or suite style. At my dd’s UC, we paid quarterly fees for academics but yearly fees for the dorms.
Some may include your dining fees within your dorm fees. It really does depend on the school.
Depends on your school. It is typically billed with your dining fees, parking fee, technology fee, etc. Anything that has to do with student life. Singles cost more than doubles typically. Doubles, triples, and suite style varies. Also apartments are more or less depending on the school because you typically have a different dining plan. When my Dad paid my tuition it was split down the middle, along with room and board. So we made 2 payments for both together.
If you see $5,000/double, it means each student in the double pays $5,000. That cost, along with the lunch plan (12 or 14 meals a week for instance) is talked onto your bill. You either pay it at the end if July fie the next semester, or pay in. Installments (depending on colleges - look into it.)
