How do you rank the CSU schools?

What tiers in your opinion do you put CSUs on? And why?

That depends a LOT on what you want to study, (For example, an engineering student would rank CP Pomona higher than Fullerton. Cal Maritime is the best school in the West for a handful of majors but, doesn’t off a wide variety. Humboldt has a fantastic forestry program, Sonoma offers an awesome accelerated teaching credential, Sac has a great Nursing program)

In the abstract though - ranked largely by selectivity and reputation:
Top Tier
Cal Poly SLO/SDSU/Cal Maritime (at what it does)
Second Tier
Fullerton/Long Beach/Chico/Northridge
Third Tier
Cal Poly Pomona/SJSU/Sonoma/Fresno/San Marcos/Humboldt

Most of the other campuses offer stand out programs and all 23 of them off credible degrees in a wide variety of subjects. They all have differing personality and appeal depending on the student’s interests, field of study and location.
