CSU

What are some of the best California state universities

The top CSU’s usually consist of:
Cal Poly SLO
SDSU
CSULB
SJSU
CSU Fullerton
Cal Poly Pomona

Also depends upon majors, since the Cal Poly’s are known for their Science and Engineering, while SDSU is more known for their Business although their Science/Psych/Education departments are highly ranked. CSULB is know for Engineering and Kinesiology, while SJSU is highly ranked for Computer Science.

For what?

@Gumbymom‌ SLO is also one of the top CSUs for business, and has an excellent agriculture program. I’d also add Sonoma State to your list, especially for liberal arts courses. Of course if someone wants to work in shipping, it’s hard to top Cal Maritime, which is excellent in the few subjects it offers.

@whenhen: Yes, you are right about SLO’s business, agriculture and I forgot Architecture programs too. That is why SLO is the top ranked CSU due to all their great programs.

By most measures, the best CSUs are SLO, SDSU, CPP, Long Beach, and Chico. Cal Maritime is also outstanding but, offers just a handful of majors.

Best is pretty subjective though. What are you looking for in a school? What do you want to study? what are your qualifications?
