How do you rank the ivies?

I’m bored, so I want to know how all of you rank the ivies in terms of education and prestige? I would say something like this:

yale, princeton, harvard, columbia, brown, cornell, dartmouth, upenn

what about you guys?

HYP

Columbia

Brown/Dartmouth

UPenn

Cornell

Thats such a f''ed up question. As an existentialist, I rate the ivies for how they appeal to me, in other words, which one is the best fit. I suggest you do the same. I would prolly say: Brown, Yale, Penn, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth

This might be the most ostentatious thing I've ever read on this board.

And that's saying a lot.

hi The Protege!

1) Stanford
2) Penn State
3) JHU

what about Duke? Is it ranked higher or lower than Brown?

dook sucks!

unc unc

I wanna go to JJ Redick University

What a novel idea for a thread!

or the Lets-Rush-the-Court-After-Beating-VIRGINIA-TECH University

amor caelestis--Forgive my, what you dub to be, showiness. I just don't see how acclaimed rankings matter, when the only rankings that mean anything are your personal ones. Going to school for prestige and reputation is a crock of sh't.

And, your rankings are done merely on the basis of selectiveness, which is fairly offensive if not pompous, so don't tell me that I'm ostentatious, when you rank HYP number 1.

yale, upenn, dartmouth/columbia, harvard, princeton, cornell

(I just hate harvard and princeton.haha.)

"And, your rankings are done merely on the basis of selectiveness, which is fairly offensive if not pompous, so don't tell me that I'm ostentatious, when you rank HYP number 1."

Uh, what? At least that's a pretty objective way of ranking schools, and he goes to Brown just so you know

you know, except for cornell, theyre all ivy league schools. I mean, its so subjective that theres no real point in doing this. Im sure that hundreds of kids at Dartmouth say they would rather go there than Harvard and visa versa.

please dont get into a tizzy about this stuff.

except for cornell they're all ivy league schools? Is that because of our acceptance rate due to the fact that we are the largest of the ivies we have to accept more students? I'm not saying that HYP aren't the most selective, but who are you Brown kids kidding? Even USnews which I personally hate has you guys ranked lower than Cornell. Brown is ranked 71st in world universities compared to Cornell being ranked 14th. http://www.thes.co.uk/statistics/international_comparisons/2005/top_america.aspx
And ya it's true that each students at Dartmouth like Dartmouth and students at Brown like Brown, but if anything it's not that Cornell shouldn't be called an ivy why not pick Dartmouth, the LAC, or Brown the unknown university in the rest of the country or dare I say world?

Im sorry but Im from Long Island so I have the natural bias. I obviously know that Cornell is a great school and is definitely on par with other Ivies...I guess you cant see that when you dont see im from Long Island.

I guess you miss the joke then. haha.

HotelschoolCornell, that's just the stupidest comment in an extremely stupid thread. Brown has one of the highest international student percentages in the Ivy League, nearly 10%, so obviously its well known enough in the world. And the whole idea of a University being "well known" or not anyway doesn't matter to anyone except dumbass high school students on CC, because the people who NEED to know where you went to school (future employers, grad school admission boards) will 100% know and respect Brown.

This thread is so dumb that I refuse to even criticize it further.
