how do YOU study?

hey guys (=
i know each and every one of us has our own style of studying, some better than others, i thought this thread could be helpful to each and every one of us with our studying.

me -- i just basically read and read and read .. it's not that productive sometimes, cause i'm easily distracted.

I read, take notes, outline, highlight, etc. as necessary. The one thing I will never do is use different colored highlighters to color-code my notes. That really annoys me.

I read somebody else's notes a few minutes before each test.

You know, I don't really study much at all. I just realized that.

My parents have to force me to study now. =D
When I study by myself I read over my notes. Do some questions in my head. If I don't get it I do some t/b work.
That like never happens though.
When I study with my parents however... (Have you ever seen the video Crazy Asian Mother with the B+ thing?)
Yea. Pretty bad stuff. Re-do all the questions in the notebook. Do all the review questions in the textbook and do all the other questions as well. It's horrible. Don't do it.

BE SURE TO LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE STUDYING xD

It depends on the subject. For history, I just read the chapter a few times. In math and physics, I do problems over and over again. Those are the only things I study for though. I HAVE to listen to music while I study or else i zone off.

Taking AP classes this year, I finally learned how to study. Before, I basically did the quick study the night before and would ace the test. Yeah, that didn't work in AP Bio and US. Took almost half the semester of bad test grades to get that in my head.
Now I study nightly. Its all about the repetition.
I read, take notes, then review, review, review.

Mmini-tip: Get away from distractions. I have to study far away from my computer with some light jazz to stay focused.

If i have to learn vocab words then I just make flashcards. Otherwise, I just read. I really don't study. I am a very awful procrastinator. I mean, I always do my homework on Sundays and somehow manage to get it all done by 8ish.

When it comes to Latin American history, I read the chapter twice. When it comes to literature, I read the book once. When it comes to math and science, I take notes during lecture only, that's pretty much all I'll do. I'll go home, open the books, and stare at them for a while, not actually reading them, just staring, but I guess that's because I've convinced myself that that counts as "studying"
