how does an american apply to a university in england?

I know this section is dedicated mainly those from other countries attending a university in America but I am just curious to know the requirement for an American student to attend a school In England. What tests and courses are require? Do they look at ACTs,APs, and
SAT(II) scores? Do use grade point average in England as well? I am aware I have many questions but I am just nosey :D Thanks!

Hi, you will need to check with websites of every university you are interested in order to get the picture. Different universities in the UK have different requirements from the US students, some of them accept SATs/APs, some even have score cut-offs, and so on.

If you’re looking for a good university, I think most of them look at your AP scores since it’s the only thing that’s bench-marked.

GPA is NOT considered.

Depending on which university you want to study at, you will have to produce at least the minimum requirement in AP scores and either the SAT or ACT.

Application is done through the standardized UCAS system ([UCAS - Home](http://www.ucas.com)). You may apply to a maximum of 5 schools.

If you are considering studying at Oxbridge, bear in mind that you are only allowed to apply to one for undergraduate studies, so pick the one that you will be the most comfortable with.

British universities do not offer financial aid to Americans, so be prepared to field the hefty international tuition rates per government mandate. You will also have to pay college fees if applying to a collegiate university and should, of course, plan accordingly for spending and emergency money.
