How does Automatic Admission as a transfer student into UT work?

I am graduating from high school a year early with the Class of 2014. My initial plan was to go to the University of Texas at Arlington under CAP for a year and then go to UT, however, since I decided on graduating towards the end of the 1st semester of school, I did not get to meet the application deadline to apply to The University of Texas at Austin, which is what I am initially supposed to do if I want to be able to enter CAP at another UT Branch School. Since I am unable to do CAP, my 2nd option was to go to another college/university for a year, and then try to transfer into UT, since I hear transferring into UT as a college student is far more easier than trying to get admission as a high school senior if you are not qualified for Automatic Admission. And then I heard that UT also has automatic admission for transfer students.

To get to the point, my question is, exactly how does automatic admission as a transfer student work? In one of the requirements, it said you had to "qualify for automatic freshman admission to a Texas university based on Texas law when you graduate from high school." Does that mean I had to be able to qualify for automatic freshman admission into UT by the time I graduated from high school, or does that mean I had to qualify for automatic admission "a" Texas university (any texas university), for example, The University of Texas at Arlington, which provides automatic admission to first-time freshman if they were in the top 25% of their class? If that is the case, would I qualify for automatic admission as a transfer student into UT, if I am in the top 25% of my class and qualify for automatic admission to schools such as UTA, or other Texas universities? (assuming I went to a community college and maintained a high GPA, and met all other requirements for automatic admission). Sorry for the long post, I'm just trying very hard to find a way I can be accepted into UT! Thank you.

If you don’t get an answer here, try posting on the UT-A forum (under Alphabetic List of Colleges) or the TX colleges forum (under College Search & Selection; State colleges).

Thank you! I’m new on the site so I had no idea where to post this thread to get replies :(

Does bumping your own posts help? Not sure but i’ll give it a try lol

No problem, sometimes there are multiple appropriate forums to post on; I moved your thread here because the Admissions forum is for fr admissions only.

This forum is for transfers to all schools, so I’d advise you copy your thread and post right now on the other forums I recommended as more members there are likely to have experience with the instate TX transfer process.

Bumping can help, but the general guidelines are to bump only once every 24 hrs or if your thread is off the first page.
