Texas community college transfer - questions about the UTAustin automatic transfer program?

Hello! Since I’m attending a Texas community college, have A’s and one or two Bs (one of them a 79% though…), am a TX resident, and have graduated from high school very recently, I fit within the automatic transfer program for UTAustin. However, I see we still must fill out an application, including essays and such.

Am I automatically admitted with a high GPA? Or do they still deny applicants?

I am not aware of any Texas CC automatic transfer program for UT. They have the CAP program which is automatic transfer from one of the branch schools, but you go to one of those as a freshman for an entire year (30 hours). I could be missing something though…anyone else?

The auto transfer requires that you were an auto admit who chose to go to CC out of high school.

I did go to CC out of high school. Do you mean auto admit as in, top 7% of class?

Yes top X% for your HS graduation year.

@JAMCAFE
Aw man. Well if I maintain a high GPA, since I qualify for the rest of the criteria, would I make it in?

Yes you can get in with taking the required transfer courses for your major and maintaining a high gpa (preferably 3.6+)

Interesting - thanks for posting the link. I had heard of this at A&M, but you had to say you were doing it before your freshman year, I think. Good luck to you - hope it works out!
