How does Brown look upon Legacies?

How much does being a double legacy help in admissions to Brown???

Bump
anyone??

Brown is not a major legacy school so I’m sure it won’t make or break you.

I am sure it helps, but like mc4 said, it will not make or break you.

This question has been asked and answered several times on this forum. Search for it.

@known / anonymous: Thanks
@fireandrain: okay then…umm I will…

In general, a legacy applicant with 50+ percentile stats WHO APPLIES ED will have a very good chance at getting in.

Regardless of what anyone says.

We asked this ques at one of those info sessions last year and the response was that being legacy only helped if “all other things were equal and it came down to this student or that one”, and she also said the legacy admit rate has dropped to 36% (from the 50% at the time my older daughter applied).

Still, 36% is much higher than 9.6% Give it a try if you really want to go there.

^“much higher” is an understatement in cases like these :D

Of course it helps, but only if you apply ED.

Brown considers legacy for students who apply RD. As for that acceptance rate – I thought it was closer to 33% than 36%.
