I am only asking this because there is a significant difference in what is said on the AU financial aid website and what is said on the common application supplement. The supplement suggested that I must apply for any and all scholarships (merit included) while the website suggested that upon submitting my application I will be considered for merit based awards/scholarships. The website also stated there are additional scholarships that I can apply for separately but that they are different then the merit based awards. The supplement only mentioned the additional scholarships briefly but again, made it sound as if the merit awards must be applied to separately just like the additional scholarships.

Can anyone help clarify this? Thanks!

Here is the link to the AU website discussing freshman scholarships. It will tell you which scholarships require or do not require an application.

The website explanation makes sense but why is the common application explanation of scholarships different?

When my son and daughter applied to colleges, I found many discrepancies between the commonapp website and the various school websites. I would go with what is posted on the AU site and call them if you want additional clarification. I always find them very accommodating and willing to answer questions.

I agree with NewJerseyMom about always following what is posted on the university website. I am from MD and if I have any questions I ALWAYS call my counselor and she explains things to me. If you ever have any questions call your counselor!!!
