How does McGill calculate GPA?

I’m a Canadian citizen completing 11th and 12th grade in the US. So, I’m wondering how Mcgill calculates GPA. Is it based on the Quebec HS system? Or something else?

Also side question: How will my grades be considered since I completed grade 9 and 10 in Ontario?

Since you are attending high school in the US you will be evaluated as an American applicant. It is the standard A=4.0, A-=3.7 etc. scale. Grade 9 is not considered at all. If your grade 11 and grade 12 stats are borderline they may look at your Ontario grade 10

If admitted you would pay the out of province Canadian tuition of course.

@TomSrOfBoston thanks for your response! so regarding the A=4.0 … etc scale you mentioned: how does that translate to percentages? Is it 90-100: A , 80-89: B … etc?

" Is it 90-100: A , 80-89: B … etc? " Yes for evaluating your US grades 11 and 12. When they look at your Ontario Grade 10 they will use the Ontario scale.
