I’m going to be a rising Junior this year. I have six colleges in mind (I live in Maryland):
University of Virginia (reach)
UNC Chapel Hill (reach)
University of Maryland College Park (semi-reach)
University of Georgia (safe)
University of Delaware (safe)
Virginia Tech (safe)
And one more school that will really be a “safe” school like Salisbury
So for my junior schedule I’ve got:
AP English Language
AP Biology
AP Statistics
Honors Precalculus
Honors World History
Honors Spanish 3
Physics (Reg)
Senior year:
Honors English 12
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus AB
AP Psychology
Honors Spanish 4
Anatomy and Physiology
Teacher Assistant
Possible fields are veterinary, pre-medical, or mathematics. I want to try stats to see if I like it. I have a natural aptitude for math and science. The only problem is do you think my junior schedule is too much? I wan’t to take AP stats so I won’t have to take it at the same time as AP Chem and calc senior year. Plus, since AP Chemistry is hard, I’d rather take it senior year when I could slip with a low B or a C the second half of the year (Hopefully not). So what do you guys think, solely based on my schedule and not my SAT/ACT and ECs?
Your schedule looks pretty good! Of course, it all depends on how you manage workload and extracurriculars, but it is definitely a manageable schedule. Your schedule looks very science oriented, so perhaps you could remedy this with an AP social studies class senior year that’s not AP Psych (a light AP, unless you’re looking for that.) I’m also surprised that jr year you’re taking H World History as that’s typically a soph class, so I would see if you could replace it with something higher level. AP Stats is generally an easy AP, and AP Bio is just a ton of memorization.
Other than that, your schedules look very tailored towards your possible majors.
that’s a good schedule.
VTech is a reach or match depending on GPA and test scores.
UDel and UGA are NOT safeties because they’re OOS public universities that will not provide you with financial aid.
Include UMDBC for anything Stem and St Mary’s of Maryland where the academics are top-notch, also look into Rowan and Clemson (only if you can get merit aid).
